Beating out such great American League East rivals such as the
Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.
Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Cellular Field, Edison Stadium, Comerica Park they played them all and rose to the top of the heap. A big feat to accomplish for a team that had previously never won more than 70 games in a season.
